O father, father, pity take: And I will no more verses make

Still listening to lectures every week, this week The Life and Hymns of Isaac Watts. Great depth and variety of discussion. Led me to discover:

Maddy Prior. Amazing folk/madrigal sound. Rescuing forgotten church music of the 18th/19th century. Her arrangement of Watts' Cradle Song to an old Irish melody is haunting.

Ordinary Time. One of their recordings, How Sweet and Awesome (lyrics penned by Watts), has been playing in my head all day.
