Strawberry Hill, by Mary Ann Hoberman, July 1st

To be continued. And does anyone know what this is? It's says 12, by Suzanne Collins, with a release date of May 2009. Now, Catching Fire (unofficial name), the sequel to The Hunger Games, is supposed to be released in September. But there are 12 districts in The Hunger Games. Intrigued?

Marie: Any Which Wall is written in the style of Eager and Nesbit. So you have to read it, too. :)

Did you get my email?

Oh, I'm so glad this post led me to another Nesbit/Eager accolyte! Nice to meet you. I feel weird when people say AWW is written in the style of Eager, since of course I can't hope to match his style. But it's absolute written as a tribute!

Can't wait to read the novel in your drawer!

Thanks so much for popping in, Laurel! It's nice to meet you, too. (My 12 y/o sister just finished Up and Down the Scratchy Mountains, btw, and liked it very much.)

I know, can ANYONE hope to match ye oldenday writers?

I think of L'Engle, and I can't remember the exact quote, but something about people saying how intimidated they feel after reading great authors, never wanting to pick up a pen again, but L'Engle said, no, instead, she felt inspired and couldn't wait to begin writing, adding her trickle to the stream.

My novel is actually out of my drawer right now, visiting crit partners. So we'll see how they treat the poor thing.
